How’s the taste? Just as good.

Decaf has gotten a bad rap over the years for its lack of taste. Not anymore.

For decades, retailers and distributors demanded that decaf coffee be the same price as caffeinated coffee despite it requiring an additional process step (decaffeination).

This forced coffee companies to purchase lower quality coffee beans for their decaf roasts which led to poor tasting coffee. Not with us.

With jitterliss, the best ingredients & decaffeination processes means you’ll always get delicious tasting coffee every time.

Is decaf clean? Depends.

There are A LOT of ways to decaffeinate coffee.

Whether or not they’re “safe” depends on where you live. In Japan it's illegal to import methylene chloride made decaf - a process used by many well known coffee companies in the USA.

At jitterliss, we only sell decaf coffee made from natural processes - the Sugar Cane, CO2 and Swiss Water Processes.

How we decaffeinate...

How the first commercially available decaf coffee was made 1903. Is now a known human carcinogen.

A classic cheap way to create decaf. Allowed in the USA. Illegal in Japan. Used by well know coffee companies in the US.

Ethyl Acetate is used to draw out the caffeine. This chemical is naturally found in ripening fruits, such as apples and blackberries and is globally considered not harmful.

Uses liquid CO2 to draw caffeine out of the beans. Preserves the beans' innate chemical makeup. Typically the most expensive.

Owned by a company in Canada. Relies on solubility & osmosis. Results in decaf without massive flavor loss. Another similar process is called “Mountain Water” Process.
